Today, I’m prefacing this podcast with a link for everyone terrified and exhausted by all the misinformation and uncertainty our leaders are bombarding us with. This week I listened to a Zoom broadcast by Kristian Andersen, PHD, a genomic epidemiologist at Scripps Research here in San Diego titled Outsmarting Emerging Pathogens in an Interconnected World. My main takeaway was we are probably four years away from a truly effective vaccine. That was scary, but methodical and realistic. Somehow, I felt reassured. I urge you to listen. I believe you will have more peace of mind. Click on the link and scroll to Past Lectures at the bottom:

He struggles to control his hot temper. Dangerous encounters truly test this teenager which could cure or kill him. In the last episode, the Wugidgems learned from Louise Cartwright about an imminent major dark side attack. Dad and Reverend Peterson discovered they have something unusual in common. Jack Kelly murdered both of their grandfathers. Reverend Peterson went with the Wugidgems and Ben to Immersion to learn how to defend against the dark side threat. Today, Today, in this final episode, James and Grace attempt to reconcile their differences.
Today, I’m addressing this podcast to parents and middle grade and teenage children. I have woven the essence of some of my important life lessons into each book. I don’t hammer them home. You’ll see the characters learn to be loving, accepting, caring people, even the parents.

I’m probably speaking for most of the world’s population when I say, “This pandemic is the worst personal crisis of my life. Every day is filled with fear and overwhelm.” During this trial, I have found a few actions and activities which work for me in dealing with helpless feelings. Here they are:
1. Begin the day by going outside with a cup of coffee. Spend the first ten minutes sipping the coffee and praying for love, strength, peace, guidance, and gratitude this day to be with all the people in your families and friends, by name, including yourself and the rest of humanity. Then say prayers asking for the same things all other creation.
2. Go back inside, get a second cup of coffee, and do ten minutes of positive affirmations which I call meditations. I know a program of positive, vividly visualized affirmations works. The most important ones are, “I love doing my affirmations,” and “Affirmations work to improve my life.” I learned these and other affirmations when I was in school and improved my mile time to 4:13.2 which was very good at the time. I just looked on the web for current information on positive affirmations and found a link to Psychology Today that may be interesting and enlightening to you:
